1 Sam. 16:7 "the Lord looks at the heart."
Years ago I owned and operated a Performing arts Studio and we held two performances each year. One performance for Christmas and one for the Spring Concert. My dear sweet Mother, who was living at the time, was my head designer and seamstress. She was so gifted in so many area's and we had such great fun memories. The one thing she would always make sure she did correctly at the very beginning of each project was to take precise measurements of every performer. She would measure each performer from head to toe . Her designs were beautiful.
I was thinking about what God does when He looks at us. How wonderful to know that he doesn't measure us on the outside. God looks at the inside. I am constantly reminded that the world measures everything by looking at the outer appearance of others.

God has a whole other plan in place . I am so grateful that my heavenly Father does not look at me or other people the same way people do. People look at the outside of a person but the Lord looks at the heart.
So, what is the condition of my heart? Good question.
How we handle life is really a matter of our heart condition. God loves us so much and shows us in Scripture how we can have a heart like his. God is always desiring to help us grow and change to be more like Him.

I want to encourage you today to hold on to your Savior and know that He knows what is on your heart. God loves you, He cares and He knows your heart. There is hope in Christ. God's ways are Perfect!
My prayer for us today is "Lord, help me have a heart like yours!"

I am learning to look at people different myself. God give me your eyes to see beneath the surfce to the heart of your children so that I may LOVE them as You love them. My desire is to be like HIM!
ReplyDeleteI know God is so pleased with your hearts desire to be more like Him. I am right there with you. Everyday I have to start with asking Him again "Lord, help me be and think your thoughts today!" Then, the day starts. Be encouraged. The Holy Spirit will guide us. Have a great day with the Lord.
