Can you hear me now?

Psalm 17:6

I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.

How many hundreds of times have all of us seen the commercial with the actor running around saying, ”Can you hear me now?” Way too many times this has been the scenario for me again and again. How about you?

All of us have a cell phone that we must continually keep plugged into the wall to recharge the battery or it will not work. Even my cool 83-year-old Father and my Mother-in-law have their own cell phones that they use from time to time.

How well does your cell phone work if you don’t keep the battery charged? I know the answer is easy; the cell phone won’t work if it is not recharged. Even more so, how will the phone work if you plug it in to a source other than the one it was designed for? Again, this is an easy answer, the phone will not be able to recharge and therefore, will not work.

You see, it is the same thing for us, as for the cell phone. We need to be recharged on a daily basis with God. Everyday we need to ask the Holy Spirit to fill us up again and refresh us to handle the day God has for us. More importantly, whom are you plugging into as your source? God designed you to have a personal relationship with Him and Him alone. Some people think it is the food they eat, their physical activity, their family or friends and on and on. All of these things are necessary, useful and helpful but only One source is the ultimate answer. Jesus Christ is the only source of eternal life. He is available 24/7 and 365 days every year. A famous evangelist said, “Go to the throne, not to the phone.”

Did you know that God has a phone number? It is Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things that you do not know.”

Who do you run to or call when you are fearful, or times get tough, trials are heavy and disappointments are dragging you down? Let’s remember that we need to call out to God first. Call God at Jeremiah 33:3.  Only believe in Jesus and that He will answer you and He will always be there with you.
If you are a regular prayer warrior and have a daily prayer life you already understand but at times you still need a special word of encouragement and refreshment. Today I want to encourage you that God sees your every need and every time you are on your knee’s God is watching. Jeremiah 31:25 I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.”

All of us will recognize God’s voice when we read our Bible and get to understand His ways, heart and character. Be encouraged! God is longing to be your best forever friend. Call out to Him today.
