Amazed!

Zephaniah 3:17

For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. 

            He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

Today to protect my mind and my attitude, I've been intentionally selecting positive songs to sing and play on my IPOD. The results are 100% guaranteed. My attitude and outlook is lifted and shifts to the positive side of the scale.

  

When our kids were home (oh the good old days) they would bring their friends over to the house to visit. Inevitably, they would always get a good laugh at my positive songs. (I have a very large repertoire!) After a quick rendition of "Good Morning, Good Morning, it's great to stay up late!" from the movie Singing In the Rain,the same question would constantly be asked,

"Does your Mom always sing everything?"

Laughing out loud the kids would answer, "Yep! That's Mom."

How about you? Do you like music? Singing?

To my joyful amazement, I love to tell people that God loves to sing too.

God loves to sing and He loves to hear us sing His praises and our thanksgivings.

Did you know that while we sleep, God is always awake. You could think of it like this,  God is working the Night Shift. (plug here for the title of Ron Mehle's incredible book with the same title.)

Our Scripture for today, Zephaniah 3:17 "God sings over us" makes it very clear.

Picture God singing over you. WOW! He created you and loves you and sings over you. All good and encouraging songs of course.

So, when you feel or hear very negative thoughts or songs about yourself remember that they are not from God.
