Psalm 105:1
“Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done.”
“Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done.”
Can you say thank you in any other language besides your own? I remember studying French in High School and to this day I can still remember certain words like thank you and please.
As a parent we spend the first several years training our children how to mind their manners. Just when you think the children are never going to get it, they surprise you and come through with a wonderful “thank you” or “please”. When you hear your children successfully remember to say those kind words you are so excited and feel like you have finally accomplished the task. Every parent jumps for joy when the children respond without their little hints, bribes and encouragement to do so. Oh Happy Day!
Then, I thought, “Hey, that’s me and God!”
Here are the five questions to answer this week:
- Do I remember to say “thank you” to God?
- Do I have a thankful heart before God?
- Do I constantly ask God for what I want and what I need and forget to sincerely say “thank you”?
- Do I openly and publicly thank God?
- Does the world see me as a sincere grateful person or a fake greedy person?
When I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior, my life changed completely. I knew for certain that I was saved from hell. I am thankful to know where my peace and salvation comes from. (Psalm 121) Everyday we wake up with a new day to tell God thank you and live a joyful life according to our salvation.
If I am not careful, I can so quickly forget to be a thankful person. How about you?
No matter where we call home or what language we speak, if you are a child of God and Jesus Christ is your personal Savior you have so much to be thankful for. Tell the world about your 24/7 best friend Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and how grateful you are to be called a child of the King.
Daily Application:
Everyday: Tell God what you are thankful for and do not ask Him for anything for yourself. We should continue as always to be praying for others and their needs along with giving our thanks to God. Let’s start our prayers with Thank you God everyday!
