Matthew 7:24-25
“Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”
I am so thankful for the Christian women in my life. My Bible study friends and I have just finished a study on the book of Ruth. To my amazement as I dug deeper into the Scriptures I was reminded of the divine hand of God in Ruth’s life. God tells us in Scripture how much He loves His children and has a divine plan for each believer.
Here we are the week of Thanksgiving as we plan our menu and guest list for this very special day. The challenge for all of us this Thanksgiving is to pray and seek God’s plan for our Family Feast. Instead of jumping into our regular traditional routine let’s consider asking God to speak to us and seek His plan for this years Thanksgiving. Think of the acronym A.S.K.
Ask God
Seek His Plan
Keep your eyes on Jesus
Daily Application:
Day 1: Ask God all day for His plan and direction for your life
Day 2: Seek His plan through reading your Bible
Day 3: Keep your eyes on God and His Word and not the world
Day 4: Spend time at the Thanksgiving Dinner table with your family and friends and ask each person to tell the long version of what they are thankful for. This is a good time for coffee and dessert.
Day 5: Pray today for discernment and wisdom on what to do with the next 4 weeks as you prepare for the Christmas season.
Day 6: Read the book of Ruth and see how God worked in Ruth’s life. You will be amazed at how God used Ruth to be in the line of David and ultimately the genealogy of Jesus. Did you know without Ruth there would not have been a Jesus in Bethlehem? You’ll learn so many new things while reading and studying the book of Ruth.
Day 7: Attend a Bible believing church and worship the Lord with thanksgiving!
