Deuteronomy 16:15b
"...and your JOY will be complete."
Did you know that God says we can have JOY and have it to the fullest? Today's Scripture says we can have JOY that will be complete.
Let's dig into this verse and the two verses that follow and try to understand what God is teaching us.
Verse 15b starts with the following:"For the Lord your God will bless you in all your harvest and in all the work of your hands, and your joy will be complete."
These are very encouraging words.
Notice how God chose the positive future tense showing a continuation of "will bless you". I am so thankful to God for His provision and promises of future blessings.
Next we read "in all your harvest". This part of the sentence reveals the plan of God for our lives. In order to reap a harvest, you must plant the seeds and cultivate the soil. After following His commands to witness and share the gospel, he reveals His promise to bless ALL THE HARVEST. Not just some or most of the harvest from the planting of the seeds, but ALL!!! Praise the Lord!
Lastly we read how God will make our JOY complete.
Today is a great day to start living for Jesus Christ with our JOY complete.
Now let's read Deuteronomy 16:16b-17 and learn and grow from God's Word.
verse 16b "No man should appear before the Lord empty-handed."
Ouch!! Have I ever come to the Lord empty-handed and absent-minded of my blessings?
God is saying, I am the giver of life and the giver of all your talents, will you trust Me with your giving as I have given to you?
Verse 17: Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you.
Have you been blessed?
Did you give thanks to God for the blessings in your life?
I can't think of anything so wonderful than to be worshipping a God who likes to give gifts and encourages us to use them to bless others.
Are you bringing your gifts to the Lord according to how He has blessed you?
I encourage you to spend time in prayer today and this week and seek God on the questions above. May God reveal Himself to you and may your life be changed forever.
Today's Thought:
I am blessed and will give according to my blessing. In return, my JOY will be complete.
