GOD COMPLETES HIS WORK

Philippians 1:6

"And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you."

Be encouraged! God has a plan for your life and He will complete it. God is Faithful to His promises.
After our salvation in Christ, we are to be obedient and follow Him in His Word. Not just read or hear the Word of God but we must DO the WORD!

You may be asking yourself, "Jayme, how does this apply to my life right now? What do you mean DO the Word?" Let's use a practical example.

Do you like to bake?
Imagine gathering all of the ingredients needed to bake a cake. Whether you are using a box mix or making a cake from scratch, in either case, you need to gather all of the ingredients and place them out on the counter to get started.
(Biblically: ingredients include reading the Word of God and
  producing fruit Gal. 5:22-23)

Every ingredient is important to make a perfect, delicious cake. You cannot pick and choose what you feel like using. You must follow the recipe.
(Biblically: you cannot pick and choose the Scripture you
"like" or "do not" like as if the Holy Word was your local
    smorgasbord)

You may not know what each ingredient does in the baking process but you follow through on the instructions. You are basically trusting the person or company that did the research and created the recipe to have it correct.
(Biblically: We are required to ultimately TRUST GOD as our
   creator)

No matter how long you allow the ingredients to sit on your kitchen counter they will not make a cake on their own.
Unless you actually put in the effort and time combining the ingredients together, the cake will not be completed.
(Biblically: Following Christ requires action and endurance.
Faith in Christ is not a passive life. Our God requires
service, sharing and studying His Word)

Have you ever completed the cake and when you took it out of the oven you remembered that you skipped the baking powder or the eggs that were needed for the recipe?
Guess what? The cake just doesn't look like it is supposed look or taste the way you know it was designed to taste. Why…. because you skipped an ingredient?
Somehow you were distracted and missed an item and didn't follow the recipe.
(Biblically: We are instructed to follow God’s Word and be
aware of the distractions and deceptions)

If you do not follow through to the very end of the recipe you come short of a delicious tasting beautiful cake. You cannot get distracted or just do your own thing. The end result is not achieved if you use the wrong temperature, wrong length of baking or cooling time or the wrong icing instructions.
(Biblically: Follow through means everything in our faith.
How many times have we been distracted or self centered
and do life half way or half hearted?
The enemy doesn't need to make us bad, he just makes us
   too busy)

HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS!!!!!

Today is a new day. The past is over and Jesus desires for each one of us to start new today, right now!!!
Walk with the assurance of your salvation in Jesus Christ and be determined to TRUST GOD AND HIS PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE AND HIS PROMISE TO COMPLETE IT!

As I post this devotional today I am praying for God to do a new inspiring work in every person's life that reads this article. I am right now begging God to use this in the only way He can and drive you to your knees in prayer. Then, allow God to help you walk in the persevering JOY of knowing He has a plan for your life and has promised to complete it.

Today's Thought:
Lord, I’m trusting in You with my life. Help me be active with my faith in YOU!
