The Webster's Dictionary defines circumstances as: a condition, fact or event accompanying, conditioning, or determining another; an essential or inevitable incident.
I know what you are thinking?
Jayme, you don't know my circumstance so this Scripture doesn't apply to me.
Here is my reply:
"You are right, I don't know who you are or your personal circumstances but God does. God created you and knows your name. God knows exactly what you are going through and how you arrived at this place. God knows how you feel. He sent His only son Jesus Christ, to live on this earth and suffer through every detail we suffer through even though He was God. In spite of our circumstances God still loves us and desires to have a personal relationship with us."

So What? How do I deal with my life circumstances now?
How does this apply to my life today?
Reread the verse at the top of this post. This time emphasize the words italicized with a stronger voice as you read it out loud.
You see, the Scripture says we are to be thankful IN. It does not say be thankful FOR.
How do I do that?
Pray for God to change your outlook on life and ask Him to help you keep a God perspective on your circumstances.
You may want to try praying this prayer below on a daily basis.
Oh God, I am so overwhelmed and I know you see me and walk right beside me, no matter what, I choose today to say thank you while I am in this circumstance. While I am here Lord I will Praise You and will eagerly look for Your hand and Your presence in this circumstance. You promise You will never leave me nor forsake me and I have no option now but to TRUST YOU!
You are my life!
I know it is hard. I have been there and at times I think some of my own circumstances will never change. BUT GOD!!
May I strongly suggest that you maintain being thankful anyway.
NO MATTER WHAT!
Do not allow any circumstance in your life to steal or destroy your JOY in knowing who you are in Christ and the JOY of your salvation.

You can endure. I Cor. 13:7
