1 Samuel 13:12
Saul replied, “So I took things into my own hands.”
This devotional today is a short and to the point.
Please read 1 Samuel 13 today.
Saul was told to wait “seven” days and he decided not to
obey.
He got tired of waiting and went ahead of God.
Saul did not trust the Word of God from the prophet Samuel.
The consequences were huge.
Saul lost his position, eventually his entire kingdom, his
family and ultimately his life because he was not willing to wait.
When I hear or read instructions from God, do I obey?
Am I willing to actively wait on the Lord?
APPLICATION:
I can trust God and wait on him!
God is faithful and trustworthy!
Be encouraged. God’s Word tells us to wait on the Lord and
be blessed.
Psalm 33:8
“Behold, the Lord’s eye is upon those who fear Him who wait
for Him and hope in His mercy and loving-kindness”
Psalm 37:7
“Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently
lean yourself upon Him.”
Isaiah 25:9
“This is the Lord we have waited for Him; we will rejoice
and be glad in His salvation”
We can learn from Saul’s mistakes and trust the LORD while
we wait on Him.
Is there something you need to give to Jesus and wait on Him
with an obedient heart?
Let’s pray:
Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior,
I confess to you my weakness in the patience area of my
life. Forgive me Lord and help me change into the godly person You created me
to be. May you be glorified as I active wait on You and make a difference in
this world to lead others to Christ.
In Your Holy name I pray,
Amen!
