What does it mean to be “Set Apart” for Christ?

As you read 1 Samuel chapter one, we are introduced to a strong godly woman who prays and dedicates her baby son to God before he is born. Notice how Hannah tells God she will give her son to Him for His glory. Hannah is making a promise to God that she and her son will be set apart for God’s glory.

Reading your Bible will change your life.

“My Word will not return void.” (Isaiah 55:11 NIV)

God’s word calls us to be set apart for Him just as Samuel was set apart before he was born.

Christians are to be set apart from the world. We are supposed to live with the character of God who is light. God Himself has called His believers out of the world of darkness. 

1 Peter 2:10 (NLT)

“But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests,

a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.”

Questions:

Are you a believer in Jesus Christ?

Do you believe that He is the Son of God?

Do you believe he died on the cross, was buried, rose again from the dead?

Do you believe he is sitting on the right hand of God the Father and is active and alive in your life today?

If you answered “Yes!” to all of the above questions, Praise the Lord!

You have been called with a plan and purpose 

Now is the time to begin to truly serve others and dedicate your life to be set apart for God.

If you cannot answer, “Yes” to all of the questions,  I am encouraging you to pray and talk to God about saving your soul. Without Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, it is impossible to please God and live the victorious life. Please take the time to consider your spiritual condition with Jesus Christ.  Having a real and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ will give you salvation.

APPLICATION:

TODAY I will choose to live my life pure and set apart for the Kingdom of God no matter what! Lord, help me to see how I can grow as I try to live a life that is set apart from the world.
