Matthew 2:2
“Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as
it rose and we have come to worship Him.”
Christmas is the perfect time to remember to keep our eyes
on the Lord. The world around us tries to pull Christ followers down and spread
confusion and doubt about God. If we keep our eyes on God and read His word daily
we will see our lives and the lives of others around us, come closer to the “Peace
on Earth” God created for us.
Let us celebrate the birth of the Christ child by giving Him
all of our worship and praise. God
is looking for true worshipers who begin their worship from within their
hearts.
“A time is coming and has
now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in
truth.” John 4:23
“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the
Lord our Maker.” Psalm 95:6
Over and over again in Scripture we read how important it
was for believers not only to worship with a true attitude of the heart but
they also participated in physical worship. We read more than 170 times in the Old Testament how the
people would bow, kneel, stoop or prostrate on the ground before their God.
(Refer to the following Scriptures to begin your study of
worshipping the Lord:
Nehemiah 8:5-6; 1 Chronicles 29:10-20; Exodus 4:29-31)
Worship is the most important thing a Christian will learn
to do.
“Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his
holy name.”
Psalm 103:1
This Christmas God alone is our focus of our
worship and praise.
Before Christmas Day could occur Joseph and Mary had to make
the decision to worship God with all their hearts, souls and body. The Angels,
shepherds, and Wisemen all made the decision to worship the Lord Jesus Christ. May you and I be encouraged to do the same today and everyday.
“I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your
bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God this is your spiritual
act of worship.”
Romans 12:1
“It is impossible to worship God and remain unchanged.”
Henry Blackaby
“Nothing we do is more powerful or more life-changing than
praising God.” Stormie Omartian
As you Celebrate the Birth of the Christ child this Christmas, give Him all of your worship and praise!
OH
WORSHIP THE KING!
Oh, worship the King, all
glorious above.
Oh, gratefully sing his power and his love;
Our shield and defender, the Ancient of Days,
Pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise.
Oh, gratefully sing his power and his love;
Our shield and defender, the Ancient of Days,
Pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise.
Oh, tell of his might; oh, sing
of his grace,
Whose robe is the light, whose canopy space;
His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
And dark is his path on the wings of the storm.
Whose robe is the light, whose canopy space;
His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
And dark is his path on the wings of the storm.
The earth with its store of
wonders untold,
Almighty, your power has founded of old,
Established it fast by a changeless decree,
And round it has cast, like a mantle, the sea.
Almighty, your power has founded of old,
Established it fast by a changeless decree,
And round it has cast, like a mantle, the sea.
Your bountiful care what
tongue can recite?
It breathes in the air, it shines in the light,
It streams from the hills, it descends to the plain
And sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.
It breathes in the air, it shines in the light,
It streams from the hills, it descends to the plain
And sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.
Frail children of dust, and
feeble as frail,
In you do we trust, nor find you to fail;
Your mercies, how tender, how firm to the end,
Our maker, defender, redeemer, and friend!
In you do we trust, nor find you to fail;
Your mercies, how tender, how firm to the end,
Our maker, defender, redeemer, and friend!
We serve
a loving,risen,alive and active Lord, who is worthy of our worship.
Merry
Blessed Christmas to you this very special time of the year.
