Revelations 21:5
“Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all
things new.”
As we begin the New Year, what is the first thing that comes
to your mind?
This year I want to…
The world around us may be falling apart but as believers in
Christ we must remind each other Who we serve and where we put our trust. At times our hearts may be overwhelmed
with the realities of this world but God is even greater than our hearts. (1
John 3:20)
We believe in Christ and we walk by faith in a big God.
“Greater is He who is in me, than He who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)
“God specializes in things fresh and firsthand. His plans
for you this year may outshine those of the past. He’s prepared to fill your
days with reasons to give Him praise.” Joni Eareckson Tada
Be encouraged. Today is our great opportunity from God to
start again with a fresh, new life (1 Thessalonians 3:8) and attitude.
(Philippians 2:5)
Did you know we have hope and encouragement in the
Scriptures? (Romans 15:4) We must not overlook the Scripture that tells us, God
will always refresh us with a new heart when we ask. (Ezekiel 36:25-27)
Do you need a new heart or know someone who does? Ask God to
fulfill His living and breathing Word in your life. As you seek, ask and follow
the teachings of Jesus Christ you will experience a new year of His new
mercies. (Lamentations 3:22-24)
God promises He will give us a new song to sing. (Psalm
33:3; 40:3; 98:1; 144:9)
God promises He will heal and renew our hearts and minds as
we seek Him in His Word and prayer to Jesus Christ. (Ezekiel 18:31-32, Romans
12:2)
Each day will be a new day when we begin with Jesus Christ.
(Hebrews 4:7) God created the world (Genesis 1:1) and as we
acknowledge His authority and give Him control we will receive new life in Him.
(1 Corinthians 15:22, 2 Corinthians 5:17)
If you take out all of the Scripture references I have
written behind each sentence you will have a very nice, encouraging and
uplifting group of sentences but without the power of God’s truth. The power and
hope will come when you read the Bible references for yourself. God has
written, “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return empty,
but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
(Isaiah 55:11)
After reading the Scriptures, select the one you need to hold on this week and write it on an index card. Post the index card where you can see it throughout your day and you will see a change in your daily outlook.
God is doing a new thing (Isaiah 43:19) in your life. If you
will seek Him with a heart willing to follow, He will reveal Himself and His
plan and purpose for your life.
I am totally convinced of this truth of Jesus Christ,
“Behold, I make all things new.”
Now is the time to intentionally make the decision to read
God’s manual the Bible. In the Word we
learn how to handle anger, sorrow, money, health, joy and family. Only in the
Scriptures written and inspired by God (1 Timothy 3:16) will we be able to have
the abundant life in Christ. (John 10:10)
Let’s get started!
