Ezekiel 36:26-27
“A new heart also will I give [create in] you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart [old heart] out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh [a new, living heart].”
In the Bible, God talks about the heart more than any other part of the body. There are more than 700 verses in Scripture that mention the heart alone. If God places that much importance on our hearts, then we should stop and take notice.
My family has studied Biology and Human Physiology over the past 12 years of their college educations combined. The facts about the human heart are absolutely fascinating. Did you know the following?
The average adult heart beats 72 times a minute; 100,000 times a day; 3,600,000 times a year; and 2.5 billion times during a lifetime.
Though weighing only 11 ounces on average, a healthy heart pumps 2,000 gallons of blood through 60,000 miles of blood vessels each day.
Every day, the heart creates enough energy to drive a truck 20 miles. In a lifetime, that is equivalent to driving to the moon and back.
Our God is an incredible creator. He created our hearts and He can clean our hearts. Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a pure heart, O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
2 Cor. 5:17 verifies for us, “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new.” When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior into our hearts we receive a brand-new heart filled with God’s supernatural love.
What is your heart condition? How does God see your heart?
The good news is that God loves you unconditionally and desires to be your Lord and Savior. God is forgiving and patient. God will only come into your heart when He is invited. If you have not prayed and invited Jesus into your heart and admitted you are a sinner and need a Savior, I encourage you to pray that prayer right now. If you have already prayed for the salvation of Jesus Christ into your heart and life now is the time to ask God to clean your heart.
Daily Application:
