Weekly Devotional February Part 1

Philippians 1:9

I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding.”

Everyone is always searching and striving for their purpose, dreams and destiny in life. Some people plan their life down to the very last hour of the day, month or year.  Others do not plan at all and take life in stride and roll with the punches.

Which one are you?

In either case, all of us have one major requirement from our Commander-in Chief, our Heavenly Father.
God tells us in His Word that we are to move forward, continue to mature and grow in our Faith as we walk with Him.  Staying a baby Christian or backsliding away from God is not an option. Some people seem unaware that they are stagnate in their Christian walk and yet, they will admit they are lacking hope and peace.

How about you?  Have your grown?

This month we will walk through the Scriptures and begin to ask God to help us grow deeper in our personal relationship with Him.
There is not one person on the earth who doesn’t need a reminder and a refreshing start with God as they walk through life on a daily basis.
We will start this week by reading our Bible everyday and asking God to help us grow in wisdom.

The following verses mention growing with God in our faith:

Col. 1:10
"...so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God."

2 Thess. 1:3
We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.”

Daily Application:
Read each verse on the selected day.
Rewrite and Restate the verse until you are able to comprehend it.
Reflect on the keyword in bold italic script in each verse.

Day 1: Proverbs 2:2
Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.

Day 2Psalm 111:10
Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever!

Day 3Proverbs 24:14
In the same way, wisdom is sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short.

Day 4Ephesians 1:8
He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.

Day 5Colossians 1:9
So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.

Day 6Titus 2:12
And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God.

Day 7James 1:5
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

When you read God's Word and ask God to speak to you through His Word He promises to answer.
Isaiah 55:11 promises, “My Word will not return empty.”
