SHARING IS EASY

1 Timothy 6:18b

“…always being ready to share with others.”

Now is the best and easiest time to share the kindness of the Lord with others.
Having the Christmas season here in December opens doors to understanding and new friendships. You will be blessed  as you reach out to others no matter where you live in the country or world.

Let me share my ideas with you and encourage you to take a moment and reach out to others in a real way to show the love of Christ.

Who should you reach out to? Your neighbors, your child or grand children’s teachers, your church teachers and staff, your mailperson, local police or firemen, your local serviceman or veteren, the cashier person at your grocery store and many others.

What should I give them? Your gift should be very simple with a note of thanks attached. I suggest the following gift ideas: homemade cookies wrapped special, cupcakes or brownies, one box of pancake mix with a bottle of maple syrup wrapped with wide ribbon, a coffee carafe with a few individual packaged tea bags, packs of hot chocolate and flavored 4 oz coffee bags, assorted packs of bagged popcorn with candy canes, hand knitted scarves and other ideas. Then, add a thank you note with your gift.
Example: (for a teacher) Thank you so much for teaching our son. You have been an encourager and we appreciate you very much. Merry Christmas!
(for a neighbor) Thank you! We are so grateful to live with you in such a wonderful neighborhood.

Where do I shop for the items? You can shop at the local grocery store, dollar store make items from home or the discount shopping center.

When do I drop off the gift? Drop the gift off to your special person the week of Christmas and before Christmas eve. Do your homework. Find out when your friend is available so you do not miss the opportunity to bless them.

Why do we do this gift giving presentation? When the three Wiseman appeared before the Lord they brought gifts and showed their appreciation and respect for the baby Jesus.  We show our respect, love and appreciation for the people God has placed in our lives and the lives of our family. Christmas is the best time to demonstrate God’s love to others.

How can I afford this? I suggest that you keep it very simple. Shop at the local discount store, use coupons, find a friend who will participate with you and split the cost. Always work ahead of the deadline and be prepared.

The Christmas blessings from heaven come when we share, serve and give to others. Like the Wisemen in Scripture, we too can visit others with small gifts and be filled with joy!
“When they saw the star, they were filled with joy. They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped Him. “
(Matthew 2:10 NLT)
